AUDITION NOTICE! saturday, september
13, 2008
ACTORS! Readings give great experience! Work with new
works and have a chance to participate in the shaping of the play! Get
exposure to Bay Area playwrights! Announcing PCSF's general auditions
for Staged Readings, Developmental Readings, Scene Nights and our
annual fundraiser production, Sheherazade.
The Reading Season begins
in October and runs through December or January. Sheherazade rehearsals
will begin in December, performances in February.
About our programs
- Staged
Readings:
Are book in hand, rehearsed, directed, and blocked readings of a
complete play. Rehearsals are between 4-10 hours a couple of weeks in
advance of the reading. Small stipend is paid.
- Developmental
Readings:
Are seated book-in-hand unrehearsed readings of a complete play.
Scripts are distributed a week or two prior to the reading. Small
stipend is paid.
- Scene
Nights: Are seated cold-readings
of pages from works in progress. Scripts are distributed and roles
assigned by the playwrights at the Scene Night. Small stipend is paid.
- Sheherazade:
Is a production of between 8-10 8-minute plays about 2008. Small
stipend is paid.

Mission between 5th and 6th in San Francisco, Room 212
- WHAT: Actors
should bring three
headshots and three copies of resume. Be prepared with a 2-minute
contemporary monologue (comedic preferred). Bring your calendar and
provide black-out dates at the audition.
- HOW: Send an
email to Sara Staley at sara@playwrightscentersf.org
to get a ten-minute slot for an audition. Please include your top three
preferred audition times.
- CALL-BACKS:
Directors of the readings will handle call-backs as they feel necessary
and individually. Call backs for Sheherazade will be in October.
