Petty Theft

Petty Theft examines the questions and consequences of those times when an impulsive action gets the better of us. Watch what happens when two junior executives end up in an alley, late at night, with a stolen purse.

After majoring in Creative Writing at UCLA, Rod McFadden had a brief stint (26 years) as a successful Sr. Executive in retail management. But in early 2009, he returned to writing full time, choosing to focus on playwriting. His one-act play, Petty Theft, is the first fruit of that decision.

Hemlock

Frank, dying from a terminal illness, is committing suicide with lover Ken's help. Frank's last request: that they retell the hot stories that kept their relationship going. But it's hard to stay on topic when the clock is ticking.

Contains graphic sexual dialog and situations.

Chas Belov is an active playwright in the PCSF and is a member of the Dramatists Guild, Inc. His first play, Rice Kugel, had a staged reading at PCSF. His short play On the Last Day of the Week in the Seventh Month of the Year in the City of Brotherly Love had a full production by PCSF as part of Sheharazade 2007.

Mother Valentine

When Sonny embraces the Devil, what's a mother to do? A Four Poster Pentecostal and a La-di-dah Catholic both want the best for their son. What that means leads to a bizarre auto-de-fe.

Bob Hayden lives in Noe Valley and has rent control. He is not currently under indictment.

Last Call

Last Call is about the right to die—or not. Three family stories are interwoven, presenting different points of view. Family secrets and stressed relationships surface as each character confronts difficult decisions and comes to his edge in this drama on a very timely and controversial subject.

Carol Sheldon has had productions on both coasts and the mid-west, including a professional production on the east coast. She's won play-writing contests in Michigan; was a finalist in the Eugene O'Neill, Louisville's Ten Minute contest, PART and other contests across the country. Carol moved to California from Michigan thirteen years ago, and has been active in Marin theatre groups where many of her works have been staged in RAW, including Lifelines, The Taxpayer's Nightmare and Don't Just Lie There. Her plays have also been seen at PCSF and Marin's Fringe and have toured the retirement homes of Marin. Carol also writes poetry and fiction.

Beekeeper

Oleta, an apiarist's daughter, grew up believing she was special, but special is a double-edged sword. Haunted by a tragic childhood accident, and the mysterious death of her father, Oleta struggles to unlock the secrets of her own Colony Collapse Disorder, while a series of events reveal that the accident may not have been an accident after all

Jennifer Lynne Roberts grew up in Transfer, PA and currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband and dog, Finnegan where she lives a quiet life filled with dreams of riding the rails. She is proud to announce that during the process of writing Beekeeper, she found herself a little less frightened of bees, but still doesn't want them flying around inside her house.

Keller, or the Inevitable Vibrating String

James Keller is a Death Row prison guard confronted with an overbearing wife, an adolescent daughter, and a black hole that promises to draw them all in. Keller, or the Inevitable Vibrating String is the story of Keller's search for redemption in the face of inescapable gravitational forces.

Carolina Rojas Moretti is a San Francisco based playwright and current member of the PlayGround Writers Pool, which has produced a staged reading of her work at Berkeley Repertory Theatre as part of their Monday Night series. She is a graduate of the Spanish Literature program at UC Irvine.
